Are CHAD PERFORMANCE red light devices safe?
The safety of our products is ensured as we comply with the standards of the European Union. We offer a 2-year warranty on all our devices, providing you with peace of mind with your purchase. Additionally, we provide a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Our LED technology utilizes red and near-infrared light, which is safe and supported by numerous scientific studies. Importantly, our devices do not emit harmful UV radiation or excessive heat.
What is the lifespan of Chad Performance devices?
Thanks to the fact that our products pride themselves on high-quality LED technology, their lifespan is excellent: up to 100,000 hours. The recommended 20 minutes a day takes the lifespan to up to 821 years. So no worries!
What is red light therapy?
Red light therapy, also referred to as photobiomodulation (PBM) or low-level laser therapy (LLLT), is a treatment that employs red and near-infrared light wavelengths to penetrate the skin and tissues, potentially providing therapeutic benefits.
How does red light therapy work?
Red light therapy operates by delivering targeted wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to the skin and cells. This light has the potential to stimulate the mitochondria within cells to produce more adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is a form of energy, promoting improved cell function and repair.
What are the benefits?
Potential benefits may include enhanced skin health (such as reducing wrinkles, scars, and acne), improved muscle recovery, relief from joint pain, decreased inflammation, better hair growth, and accelerated wound healing, among others.
How do I use it?
A general guideline is to use red light therapy for 10-20 minutes per day, positioning the device 15-30 centimeters away from the skin. Always consult specific device instructions and consider individual needs.
Is red light therapy safe for eyes?
Yes, red light therapy is safe for the eyes. However, for added precaution and comfort, we provide goggles with our panels to ensure optimal eye protection during sessions. Always utilize the provided goggles as directed.
What time of day can I use red light therapy?
Red light therapy can be used at any time during the day. The most common time is in the morning, but you can also use it before or after your workout.
Why are half of the LEDs off?
These in fact emit the invisible near-infrared light. Our eyes can't see it - similar to UV light, which is at the opposite end of the visible spectrum.
Can I overdose on light?
In photobiomodulation, there is something called "biphasic dose response". This means that too low a dose of light does not have enough effect, the ideal dose has the maximum effect, and too high a dose loses the positive effect again. We therefore recommend that you follow our recommendations: a distance of approx. 15 - 30 cm per illuminated area for 10 - 20 minutes. In addition, everyone may react differently, so you need to monitor your individual reactions and adjust the distance or time of therapy according to your needs.
Can I look into the light, or should my eyes be closed?
Always keep your eyes closed during use. For a positive effect on the eyes and vision, you can keep your eyes closed as the light will penetrate through the eyelids. However, some people are more sensitive to light of strong intensity and find it uncomfortable even with their eyes closed. For these purposes, we put protective goggles in the package. Consult your doctor about the need for protective glasses.
Why are there safety goggles in the package?
Some people are more sensitive to light of strong intensity, and it's uncomfortable for them to use red light therapy even with their eyes closed. For this reason, we put safety goggles in the package.
The second option for the use of the safety goggles is the evening use of phototherapy.
What is the difference between the RED light and the NIR one?
The red (RED) light is absorbed more superficially, mostly through the skin or hair. This makes it very effective in giving you a healthy and youthful appearance.
The near-infrared light (NIR) can penetrate the subcutaneous tissue to a depth of several centimeters. It reaches various organs, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments or even the brain.
Should the RED and NIR light be used together or separately?
Both are most often used together as they work synergistically. However, it’s also possible to use them separately. During evening therapy sessions, it's better to go with the NIR, which doesn't have a stimulating effect.
How can I use red light therapy to improve sports performance?
We recommend using it before a sports performance. The ideal way is to illuminate the muscle areas that will be the most involved during the performance.
How can I use red light therapy for recovery?
To reach the maximum effect, it's best to use red light therapy during the hours directly following a sports performance. It's ideal to illuminate the muscle areas that were the most involved during the performance.
How can light increase my energy?
Red and near-infrared light increases the number of mitochondria in the body and also makes their work more efficient. Mitochondria are, simply put, powerhouses of the cells producing energy in the form of ATP. When we have more ATP, we have more energy.
Do red light devices increase the amount of vitamin D in the body?
Vitamin D is synthesized in the body through the use of UV radiation, which our devices don't emit. Thus, there is no increase in vitamin D.
How does the money-back guarantee work?
If you're not satisfied with your red light device for any reason, you can return it to us. We offer a 30-day trial period on all Chad Performance light products. Detailed information can be found here.
